Our Background & Founder
Loosely translated, “Sempai” is Japanese for mentor, an individual who has gone before you and offers their own experience and expertise to you.
Our founder saw an opportunity to mentor others, and Fractional Leadership provides a framework to deliver that.
Jay Powell
Jay Powell, founder of Sempai Solutions, is a proven international Sales, Marketing, and Operations leader with more than 25 years of experience defining and executing growth-focused operations and strategies. These strategies resulted in his teams having driven shareholder valuation in excess of $4.5B for start-ups to Fortune 100 technology firms. Jay has held executive positions with highly successful businesses, including Aldiscon, SPSS, IBM, Adobe, and others, while leading teams across 4 continents.
Jay's expertise is in Enterprise Software with a strong focus on AI, Mar Tech, Damage Prevention, and Asset Protection. He has sold to executives in almost every industry, from Advertising to Zip Lines. Sempai Solutions came at the request of a client, in a new field for Jay.
While Jay rapidly turned the Americas into their fastest-growing global region despite the COVID-19 pandemic, he also saw the value of Fractional Leadership Consulting for everyone.
